Mr. Frederick W. Stack, age 84 years, of Unionville, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011.  He was born in Gagetown, Michigan on May 8, 1927, a son of William and Mathilda (Schmidt) Stack. On November 6, 1948, he married Marian Menzel.  She preceded him in death October 25, 2011.  Fred was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and was a former member of Bach Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.  Along with Marian, they farmed the family farm, retiring in 1974.  He had retired from Saginaw Gray iron after thirty years, where he was a pattern shop welder.  He had been a charter member of the Tuscola County gun and conservation club, the New Port Richey, Fla. Elks, and been Commodore of the Bay PortYacht Club, was a carpenter and enthusiastic wood carver, loved boating and fishing with Marian, he hunted in Wyoming with friends for 26 years, and he and Marian wintered in New Port Richey for 28 years.  He had been the first in Michigan to own a 2-row beet harvester.  Fred also built a live-aboard houseboat, which he proudly moored at Sant Point.

Surviving are their daughters, Karen Stack of Boise, Idaho, Kathy (Don)Fiebig and Beverly (Scott) Wiltse, both of Sebewaing, grandchildren, Kourtney(Matt) Quinn, Kyle (Stephanie) Fiebig, Nicole (Kevin) Sherretz, Charles Wiltse, Jessica Darke and David, Joshua and Amanda Stack.  Great-grandchildren Aaden, Anikka, Abigail, Avery Quinn Madison and Sawyer Sherretz, Evelyn and Will Darke and Victoria Fiebig also survive, along with a special niece, Bonnie Wiltse-Richards and several other nieces and nephews, his sisters Frieda Kisner of Naples, Florida and Lydia Smith of Livonia, a sister-and brother-in-law, Diane (James) Menzel of Unionville, and sisters-in-law, Verlane Ertman of Grosse Pointe and Shirley (Don) Otto of Troy.  Precededing in death were a brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Juanita Stack, sisters-and brothers-in-law, Amelia and Jacob Seibel, Elsie and William Lehman, Augusta and Bill Hughes, Steve Kisner, Beverly and Don Brown, Ethel and Julius Hessler, Winifred and Don Richards and Linda and Calvin Hemerline.

The funeral service will take place at three o'clock Friday afternoon, November4th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. Michael Allen officiating.  Interment will be in Columbia Township Cemetery.  Fred's family has suggested memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Friends may call at the Unionville Funeral Chapel, 6486 Center Street , Uninoville, on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Thursday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.  Mr. Stack will lie in state at the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m.
