Passed away on Wednesday November 23, 2011 at the Ovid Healthcare Center. Age 88 years. She was born on November 20, 1923 to the late Percy and Cordelia (Pettis) Simons. She married Lester Walter on September 20, 1941 he preceded her in death on February 1, 1995. Ellery was a homemaker and very active on the family farm. She especially enjoyed her time with family.

Surviving is her daughter, Carol Haughton of Oakley and her son, David (Pam) Walter of Oakley; 4 grandchildren, Doug (Corinne) Haughton,  Michael Walter, Troy Haughton all of Oakley and James (Shawna) Walter of Chelsea; 3 great grandchildren, Tiffany, Chris and Noah; 2 step great grandchildren, Andrew and Felicia; she was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law,  Max “Wayne”  Haughton, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2001 at 1:00 pm from the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning. Rev. John Miller will officiate with burial in Ridge Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to the Memorial Healthcare Hospice. www.wmartinfuneralhome.com
