Survived By: Surviving besides his wife of 58 years are his children; Mike (Ione), Mark, Judi (Dave) Dunn, Valerie (Reino) Huovinen, James (Carrie), Karen (Benny) Windsor, Bob (Dee), and Carol Dembowske; 22 grandchildren; Christopher (Tiffany), Angela, Nicholas (Kristen), Keaten, Sara, Gino, Angelo, Bianca, Matthew, David, Reino (Lisa), Jared, Kayla, Jamey (Jim) Jeff (Breanna), Erin (Scott), Kristeen (Brandon), Benji (Lindsey), Lisa (Ryan), Ashley (Anthony), Shannon (Adam), and Michael (Amanda), 5 great grandchildren and one on the way, a brother Paul (Debbie), a sister Marge (Fred) Slomba, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather passed away Wednesday November 30, 2011 atBayRegionalMedicalCenterwith his loving family by his side.  He was born on May 8, 1932 inDetroit,Michiganto the late William & Alice (Shephard) Dembowske.  He served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Submariner.  He married the former MaryAnne Cardinal on May 16, 1952 inStandish,MichiganatSt. Johnsthe Baptist Catholic Church.  He retired from State Farm Insurance as an agent after 29 years.  Ed was a member ofSt. John’sLutheranChurch, the Mt. Forest Twp Fire Dept, the VFW, American Legion Post 104, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Conservation Club.  He enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, euchre, and dominos with many friends, he spent most of his winters inMesa,Arizonawith many friends and cousins, but most of all Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, his special friend Jerry Wilson and his family.  Surviving besides his wife of 58 years are his children; Mike (Ione), Mark, Judi (Dave) Dunn, Valerie (Reino) Huovinen, James (Carrie), Karen (Benny) Windsor, Bob (Dee), and Carol Dembowske; 22 grandchildren; Christopher (Tiffany), Angela, Nicholas (Kristen), Keaten, Sara, Gino, Angelo, Bianca, Matthew, David, Reino (Lisa), Jared, Kayla, Jamey (Jim) Jeff (Breanna), Erin (Scott), Kristeen (Brandon), Benji (Lindsey), Lisa (Ryan), Ashley (Anthony), Shannon (Adam), and Michael (Amanda), 5 great grandchildren and one on the way, a brother Paul (Debbie), a sister Marge (Fred) Slomba, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by a grandson Kyle.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 3, 2011 at 1 pm fromSt. John’sLutheranChurchwith Pastor David Jung presiding with burial inSt. John’sLutheranCemeterywith military funeral honors under the auspices of the Standish VFW and the American Legion Post 104.  Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Friday from 1 to 8 pm.  On Saturday Ed will lie in state at the church  from 12 noon until time of service.
