Harry Raymond Proulx, of Tawas City, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 after a year-long battle with acute leukemia.  He was 78.  A native of Au Gres, Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 3rd Armored Division, 83rd Reconnaissance Battalion.  He worked for auto parts supplier Bopp-Busch Manufacturing Co. in Au Gres for 43 years, retiring as a Shipping Supervisor.  Harry and his loving wife of 57 years, Doris, led an active life, spending many years traveling with RVs and boating on Lake Huron.  Harry is survived by Doris and their three daughters, Terry (Charles) Hecko, of Cheboygan, Joyce (Jerry) Neyer of Shepherd and Diane (Doug) Henze, of Shelby Township.  Harry is also survived by six grandsons-Daniel and Michael Hecko, Sam and Drew Neyer, and Scott and Brett Henze.  Siblings surviving Harry are Mary Zapinski, of Carleton, and Shirley Skutt, of Flint.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Fred and Louise (Badour) Proulx and two brothers, James and Fred "Hap" Proulx.  Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews.  A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday December 6 at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.  A funeral mass will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7.  Visitors may gather at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of mass.  Burial will follow at the Sims-Whitney Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Holy Family Church Building Fund.  An on line guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.  Funeral arrangements are by the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
