Hegler, Mary B. of Brant, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Masonic Pathways in Alma. Mary was born October 30, 1912 in Rochester, NY to Ralph and Susan (Finein) Sheffield. She previously resided in Ovid, Michigan. Mary married Gerald W. Hegler at her parents’ home on February 14, 1945. He preceded her on September 22, 1988. Mary was a member of the Martha Washington Chapter 113 of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle and Scrabble player. She also loved playing the piano.

Surviving are two daughters and one son, Rosemary Sue Trzil and fiancé Larry Vincent, Janet Elaine and Dennis Palmer, Edward Gerald and Ann Hegler; four grandsons; three granddaughters; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and one sister, Beatrice Isbell. She was preceded by her mother, Susan, father, Ralph, step-father, Roy Richard, brothers, Donald and Bill Richard; sisters, Florence Richard and Ruth Miller and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles. Pastor George Ayoub will officiate with burial in Brant Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, December 8^th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to Michigan Eye Bank or Masonic Pathways.
