Survived By: Frances is survived by her children: sons, Larry (Marianne) Girardin of Midland and Paul W. Girardin of Bay City; daughters, Debra (Tom) Ault of Secord Lake, and Summerfield, FL and Lynnette Girardin-Coon of Midland; grandchildren: Kimberly (Aaron) DeKryger of Fremont, Paul (Megan) Girardin of Washington D.C., Brook Girardin of Midland; and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John A. Hermsen.

Frances Alice Girardin, 89 of Midland, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at The Laurel’s of Mt. Pleasant.  She was born May 20, 1922 in Los Angeles CA, the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (Patterson) Hermsen. 


Frances came to Michigan with her serviceman husband and made her home in Midland.  She had been employed as a medical secretary and had worked in the office of Dr. Gothe and Dr. VanSickle for 15 years.  Frances is survived by her children: sons, Larry (Marianne) Girardin of Midland and Paul W. Girardin of Bay City; daughters, Debra (Tom) Ault of Secord Lake, and Summerfield, FL and Lynnette Girardin-Coon of Midland; grandchildren: Kimberly (Aaron) DeKryger of Fremont, Paul (Megan) Girardin of Washington D.C., Brook Girardin of Midland; and three great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John A. Hermsen. 


 

Funeral services for Frances will take place 1 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street.  Tammy DeRuyter will officiate with interment to follow in Midland Memorial Gardens.  Frances’ family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 12 noon until time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association.
