Fordos, Leslie F.
Freeland, Michigan
Passed away Tuesday morning December 27, 2011 at the Stratford Village Nursing Home in Midland after a lengthy illness at the age of 84 years. Leslie was born March 19, 1927 in Merrill, MI to the late Frank and Rose (Takacs) Fordos and has resided in this area all of his life. Leslie was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Freeland. He had attended Michigan State University and received a degree in Agriculture Science; he had also attended Saginaw Business Institute. Leslie was a fantastic ball room dancer and singer; he loved working with wood, gardening, attending antique car shows and was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. On November 6, 1965 Leslie married Jane M. Dougherty, she survives him. Also surviving are four children; Rita (Al) Fordos-Huebel of Hartland, MI, Char Fordos and fiancé Jim Adams of Sanford, Brian (Stephanie) Fordos of Midland and Karen (Paul) Fordos-Grohman of Freeland. Seven grandchildren; Ben, Sarah, Jacob, Olivia, Sophia, Maddie, Tyler and a sister; Viola Forro of Freeland also survive Leslie. Six brothers and three sisters have predeceased Leslie.
A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 29, 2011 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Freeland. Rev. Fr. Robert DeLand will officiate. Per Leslie’s wishes cremation has already taken place. Friends may call at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Freeland on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family wishes.
