Obituary for Agnes M. Unger of Standish, Michigan

Agnes, age 90, passed away December 28, 2011 at MediLodge of Sterling. She was born January 6, 1921 to John and Ida Mae (Campbell) Serens in Omer, Michigan. Agnes was married to Robert Unger on February 7, 1942, who preceded her in 1982. Agnes was a member of the Standish Community United Methodist Church and a life member for over 60 years of the Order of Eastern Star. She taught school for several years before joining her husband in the insurance business. Her indomitable spirit will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Agnes is survived her children Roberta (Bill) Sommers, Patricia Wilshire, John (Marsha) Unger and Michael (Tammy) Unger, ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband Robert, parents Ida Mae and John E. Serens and brother Jack Serens.

Funeral services for Agnes will be on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel of Standish, Michigan, with Pastor Donald Wojewski officiating. Visitation will be at the chapel on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
