Mrs. Eunice Reid passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the age of 86 years. Family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Browne's Mortuary, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., with the funeral commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ernest Reed will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
 
Mrs. Eunice Reid was born December 17, 1925 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late George and Frances Burke. She was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Missionary Board, Mothers Board and was a Deaconess. Mrs. Reid was also an antiques dealer.
 
 
 
 
She leaves to cherish her memory, a step-daughter, Catherine Reid; grandchildren, Stephan (Trina), Deidra, Shannon and Samuel Madison; sister, Francis Wilks; niece, Marilyn Hill and special niece, Joyce Byers; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Reid; son, John Lee Hampton; parents, George and Frances Burke; grandparents; sister, Mary Butler; brother, George Burke, Jr.; grandson, Curtis Madison.
