Roy W. Reif

Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Brian’s House in Bay City, MI; age 74 years.  Roy was born on December 17, 1937 in Frankenmuth to the late Henry and Hulda Reif.  He married Wanda Jones on November 6, 1986.  She survives him.  Roy worked for Star of the West in Gera for 35 years until his retirement.  He was also self-employed in farming.  Roy was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, the Richville Conservation Club, and the Frankenmuth Conservation Club.  

Surviving besides his wife Wanda are a daughter, Kelly Reif (Christian Tomsich) and a son, Matthew (Ashley) Reif, 2 sisters; Mildred Keinath, and Marion (Albert) Weber, an aunt, Marion Reif and many nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by an infant sister, Frieda, sisters and brothers-in-law; Hilda (Norman) Sohn, Arline (Ray) Keinath, and Leon Keinath, and a brother Edward Reif.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.  Rev. Gary Bender will officiate with burial between services in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.  Roy’s family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Lorenz Lutheran Churchor a charity of donor’s choice.  Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.cederbergfh.com
