Rohde, Henry C.  Jr. “Pickles”

Henry C. Rohde Jr “Pickles” of Twining, Michigan and formerly of Bridgeport passed away January 1, 2012 at St Mary’s of Michigan Standish Hospital.  Age 57 Years.  Son of the late Henry and Dorothy Rohde, Henry was born July 26, 1954 in Saginaw.  He married Valerie Kania on February 2, 1974 in Saginaw.  He was first employed by Vlasic Pickle Co. and later with General Motors where he retired due to disability.  Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to the casino.  He donated his hair to “Locks of Love” several times.

Surviving are his wife, Valerie; 3 children, Daniel (Amber Brooks) Rohde, Jennifer Rohde, and Vincent (Kristi Marsh) Rohde who are expecting Henry’s first grandchild in June 2012; 6 brothers and sisters, Herman Matzke, Art (Karen) Matzke, Jean Pearson, JoAnn O’Connor, Pat (Dave Ball) Woodcock, and Mary (Jim) Crandall; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Lori) Kania, Vicky Gilbert, and Cindy Herr; His Mother-in –law, Joyce Kania; and godchildren, Danny Woodcock, Ashley Crandall, and Mellisa Gilbert; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded by his father-in-law Stanley Kania.

A Memorial Service will take place 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cederberg-Brietzke Funeral Home, 403 N. Michigan Ave in Saginaw.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
