Mrs. Marian Louise Hare, age 95 years of Unionville passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012. She was born in Unionville on October 27, 1916 in a home built by her great-great grandfather, and she lived in that home most of her lifetime. She was the daughter of Robert Otto and Martha (Schafer) Dehmel. On July 6, 1940 she married Howard Hare. He preceded her in death June 3, 1996. Marian was a member of Unionville Moravian Church, where she was very active. She and Howad had farmed together for many years, while she was also an employee of State Savings Bank for 43 years, and was a member of the PTA for several years.
Surviving are her children. Peggy Lou (Amasa) Ondrajka and Robert (Kathy) Hare, both of Unionville, and seven grandchildren, James K. (Brenda) Ondrajka, Margaret (Joe) Burgess, Amy Jo Hahn, Dale (Aimee) Hare, Tracy (Randy) Gremel, Tammy Hare and Bobbie (Scott) Jacobs. Fifteen great-grandchildren also survive. Her parents, Robert and Martha Dehmel are deceased and her sister, Margaret Bourrie, passed away December 26, 1950.
The funeral service will take place at eleven o'clock Saturday morning, January 7th at the Moravian Church, with Rev. Trina Holmberg officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Unionville Funeral Chapel on Friday, where Marian will lie in state between the hours of 2pm and 8pm, and at the church on Saturday from 10am until service time.
