Streeter, Elaine Gertrude of Munger, MI was welcomed into her heavenly home on Saturday, January 7, 2012. She is reunited with her late husband, Edward Henry Streeter. Elaine loved her Lord Jesus above all else and also made her family her ministry. She was born in Monitor Twp. On September 7, 1932 to the late Gustave and Martha (Schwab) Schlicker.
She is survived by three sons: Kim, Kurt (Susan) and Kevin (Brandi) and one daughter Kari (Paul) Gakstatter. She also leaves behind seven treasured grandkids: Kyle, Russell, Amber, Jacob, Zackary, Arianah and Kaleb. She will be missed by her sister Lorine Knoerr, and sisters-in-law Eleanor Schlicker, Marilyn Schlicker, Edna Oltman, Mabel Meyer and Lola Strieter. All her family and friends will miss her gentle, fun-loving spirit. Elaine took pride in cleaning for Trinity-St. James for numerous years. She also served the Lord in choir, Stephen Ministry, Ladies Aid, Sunday School, and many other areas. Elaine enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, and bingo. She was preceded in death by brothers: Norman, Harold, Edgar, Walter and Howard Schlicker and one sister Doris Spengler.
Visitation will take place at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 10 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to the committal service at Floral Gardens Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11 where viewing will precede the service. A celebration service will follow at Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church, Munger at 11:30 a.m. after which there will be an opportunity to visit with the family in the fellowship hall where a luncheon will be served. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity-St. James Lutheran Church.
