PERKETT, Antoinette- of Clio, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville, Fr. Ioane Sigarara officiating. Visitation will be at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. with scripture services at 7 p.m. Burial will take place in Crestwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage or the St. Francis Xavier Church-Youth.
Antoinette was born August 29, 1921 in Menominee, MI to the late Antoine and Marguarite (Steffen) Olive. She was raised in Peshtigo, WI and moved to the Clio area in 1945. Antoinette married the late Ivan Perkett on May 2, 1945 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. She was a charter member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and served on the Women’s Club Alter Society and taught religious education. Antoinette belonged to the Girl Scout and the Sacred Heart League. She was an avid crossword puzzle fan and a stamp collector. Antoinette enjoyed reading, gardening, and going up north to the Newberry cabin. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: children, LaDonna (Ed) Burzyck of Clio, Roger Perkett of Clio, Wayne (Sheila) Perkett of Marinette, WI, Evonne Ferguson of Otisville; 8 grandchildren, Edward, Kristi, Melissa, Wayne, Michelle, Christopher, Matthew, Lisa; 12 great-grandchildren; special family Don & Eileen Shaver and family. She was also preceded in death by grandson, Brent; 3 brothers, Francis, Roger, Paul Delore; sister, Betty; son-in-law, David.
