Survived By: Elizabeth Rose Bartholomy, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at her daughter's home. She was born on January 22, 1918 in Kinde, Michigan, the daughter of the late George and Rose (Matt) Yost. On June 22, 1940, Elizabeth Yost was united in marriage with Paul Bartholomy at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Gagetown. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1972. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for ten years for the Michigan Catholic Conference as a housekeeper for Fr. O'Neil at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. Elizabeth was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro and its women's council. Elizabeth is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann & Richard Szpunar of Caro; three grandchildren, Paul Szpunar of Caro, Angela (Rob) Davies of Kawkawlin, and Lisa Szpunar of Salt Lake City, Utah; a niece, Margaret (Mark) Dinkel of Akron; a nephew, Mark (Erica) Yost of St. Johns; and several cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by a brother, John Yost and his wife, LuLu. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 16, 2012 with Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk officiating. Burial will follow at St. Agatha Cemetery in Gagetown. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Sacred Heart Building Fund, St. Agatha Cemetery Fund, or the Alzheimer's Association.
