Passed away at her home on Thursday, January 12, 2012.  Age 87 years.   Norma Alice Oxendale was born November 9, 1924 in Wheeler, Michigan to Ray and Agnes (Blandon) Oxendale.  She met Edward Ireland in California, and they were married February 28, 1946.  He survives her.  Mrs. Ireland was a member of First United Methodist Church.  Surviving besides her husband she leaves two sons and two daughters; Harry (Nancy) Ireland, Susan (Tom) Napolitano, Steven Ireland, and Nancy Ireland, one grandchild Tiffany Ireland (Mike Ross), two great grandchildren; Collin and Amelia, her sister-in-law Annelie Oxendale, a sister Letty (late Scott) Keefer, a brother Lynn (Carol) Oxendale, a brother Ralph (Mary) Oxendale, a brother Duane (Janet) Oxendale, and a sister Beth (late John) Burk.  Norma was predeceased by her brothers Ellis (Pat) Oxendale, Garth Oxendale, and Lee Oxendale.
Funeral service will take place 11AM Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland RD (S-M47).  Pastor Jerry Larkin will officiate.  Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeland.  Friends and family will gather at the funeral home on Monday from 2PM to 4PM, and 6PM to 8PM.  Memorial offerings are suggested to the Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.
