Drexler, Carl A.
Chesaning, Michigan
Passed away on Sunday evening, January 22, 2012 at Avalon Hospice in Flint. Age 91 years. He was born on November 30, 1920 in Albee Township to the late Charles and Carrie (Albert) Drexler. He married Eleanor Ebenhoeh on September 13, 1947. She survives him. Carl was a 1938 Chesaning High School graduate and president of his senior class. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and served as an extraordinary minister. He was on the first Our Lady School Board. He enjoyed square dancing with the New Lothrop Sunday Sashay Square Dance Group. He especially enjoyed traveling to 48 of 50 states and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl retired from the McDonald Dairy in Chesaning in 1981 as a truck driver and then spent 14 years with the Michigan Sugar Company.
Surviving besides his wife Eleanor are 8 children; Joan (Dennis) Andres of New Lothrop, Charles Edward Drexler of San Francisco,CA., Mary Drexler of Knoxville, TN., Roy (Bonnie) Drexler of San Antonio TX., Floyd (Jan) Drexler of Rapid City, SD.,
Sue (Ray) Mather of Bath, John (Diane) Drexler of San Antonio TX., Sharon (Paul)
Moore of Corunna; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Edna (Clyde) Smith of Grand Rapids and Jeanette Schulte of Chesaning. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Bell and brothers, Harold, Wayne and Walter Drexler.
Funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Richard Bokinskie and Fr. Joe Krupp will officiate with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning, on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. and at church on Wednesday after 9:00 am.
