Gary James Buschlen age 62 of Caseville died Thursday afternoon, January 26, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe with his family at his side.
He was born August 6, 1949 in Pigeon to Marie (Moore) Buschlen and the late Glenn
Buschlen and grew up on a farm near Pigeon. Gary graduated from Laker High
School in 1968 where he had been an outstanding football and basketball player.
Gary farmed on the family farm until retiring. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed
doing yard work and taking care of his lawn, but Cheeseburger in Caseville was
the highlight of the summer for him.
Surviving are his daughter, Heather Buschlen(and friend, Rob Ondrajka) of Caseville; his
mother, Marie Buschlen of Pigeon, a brother, Roger (Sally) Buschlen of Pigeon;
two sisters, Eleanor Adams (and her friend Larry Loll) of Bay City and Ruth
Cresswell of Charlevoix. Also surviving are Tina (Paul) Samborski and their
daughter, Paige of Caseville; Heather’s mother, Lavern Lapka of Caseville and
very good friend, Wally Kozlowski.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Richard “Muffy” Buschlen.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Saturday evening, at the Champagne Funeral
Chapel, Elkton with burial in the spring in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon. Friends
may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 PM Saturday.
