Ruth M. McBroom, 79, of Twining, Mich., passed away Jan. 27, 2012 at Medilodge of Sterling, Mich.
Ruth was born in Virginia on Aug. 1, 1932, the daughter of Roland and Delphia (Belcher) Stiltner. She married Ovid McBroom in 1952, and together, the couple raised one son, Michael.
Ruth was employed as a supervisor for Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company during her adult life until her retirement. She loved her family; enjoyed her church, West Branch Church of Christ; cooking; and traveling and cruising around the world.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Ovid, who thought she was the “sweetest” woman he ever met in his life; son, Michael McBroom; daughter-in-law, Margaret McBroom; grandchildren, Christopher and Scott McBroom; sister, Goldy Young, of Oklahoma; one brother, Hessell Stiltner, of Virginia and sister-in-law, Irene Stiltner, of Virginia.
Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three sisters, Zella French, Berchie Coler and Lucille Stiltner and brother, Clayton Stiltner.
Visitation for Mrs. McBroom will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31 at C.L. Forshee & Sons Funeral Homes, Inc., Twining Chapel. Mrs. McBroom will lie in state from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the Twining Chapel with services following at 11 a.m. Tony Bodeker, of West Branch Church of Christ, will officiate with interment at Cedar Valley Cemetery, Twining.
