Survived By: Harry is survived by his wife of over fifty-nine years, Margaret English of Caro; two daughters, Pamela S. & Ron Iseler of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Tina English-Kastraba and John Kastraba of Caro; one son, Tracy English of Oregon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Trevor & Wenjing Schniers of China, Troy & Karen Schniers of East Lansing, Mason Kastraba and Maggie Kastraba, both of Caro; two great-grandchildren, Claire Schniers of China and Kaitlyn Schniers of East Lansing; a friend and son-in-law, Larry Schniers of Caro; three brothers and their spouses, Wildrex & Carlene English of Comstock Park, Milo & Barbara English of Bay City, Daniel & Janice English of Millington, Tennessee; three sisters, Francis Freeman of Los Angeles, California, Lois Smale of Anaheim Hills, California and Carole Ann Amend of Bradenton, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Jerry English and his brother, Ellis English.

Harry A. English, age 80, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center – Harrison in Saginaw.  He was born on March 28, 1931 in Caro, the son of the late Wildrex and Leola (Milner) English. Following graduation from Caro High School in 1949, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  Harry was united in marriage with the former Margaret Parsons on July 4, 1952 in Manhattan, Kansas.  Shortly after his return from the service, he came back to Caro where he was employed with Michigan Bell.  Following thirty-six years of employment, he retired in 1993.  Harry was a member of the Fairgrove V.F.W. Post #7486.  During his free time, he enjoyed motorcycle riding and deer hunting.  He also enjoyed attending the Oasis as part of its afternoon coffee group. He also was an avid NASCAR fan and a devoted grandfather.

In keeping with Harry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating.  Military honors will be afforded by the Fairgrove V.F.W. Post #7486 and the U.S. Army.  The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m.  The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.
