JECZMIONKA, Roman E.

Age 95 years, died Friday, February 3, 2012 in the Bay Medical Care Facility.  He was born to the late Stanley and Julia (Marciniak) Jeczmionka on April 21, 1916 in Bay City.  Roman was employed with American Hoist for 40 years before his retirement in 1978.  He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, its Senior Citizens Club, a lifetime member of its Athletic Club, the League of Catholic Women and Men, and the St. George Society. 

On May 30, 1939 Roman married the former Angeline Block who survives him after 72 years of marriage along with their two children: Jane (Robert) Parr and John (Carol) Jeczmionka; four grandchildren: Laura Weil, Lisa (Jason) Stewart, Jill (Robert) Schmidt, and Jon (Jill) Jeczmionka; six great-grandchildren: Julia, Jenna, Carter, Alex, Marlee, and Braxton; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers: Rita Majchrzak, Helen Rozek, Genevieve Lewicki, Alice Holka, Leonard Piotrowski, Stanley Jeczmionka, Walter and Cas Piotrowski.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Roman will lie in state in church Monday after 9:00 AM.  Rev. Richard M. Filary will preside and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Members of St. Stans Senior Citizens will pray the rosary Sunday at 2:00 PM followed by the Vigil Prayer Service at 4:00 PM, both at the Trahan Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Visiting hours are Sunday 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the W.
