Survived By: On October 4, 1947, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline "Maxine" Ciesielski and they shared their lives together for over 64 years. Maxine survives him, along with their five children: Patti (Dave) Lewandowski of Canton, MI, Pam (Bill) Wiescinski of Portage, MI, Jim Satkowiak of Bay City, Jon (Christine) Satkowiak of Murphys, CA, and Joe (Mary Ann) Satkowiak of Livonia, MI; nine grandchildren: David, Matthew, and Evan Lewandowski, Jonathan and Kristen Wiescinski, Lindsey (Russell) Richards and Garrett Satkowiak, Travis and Tyler Satkowiak; two great grandchildren: Jocelyn Satkowiak and Logan Richards; five siblings: Sister Thomasine, Pauline (Chet) Latocki, Louis (Barbara) Satkowiak, Helen Murawski, and Robert (Luanne) Satkowiak; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Satkowiak

SATKOWIAK, Leo B. of Bay City, Michigan.  Age 89 years, died peacefully at home Friday, February 3, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born to Joseph and Pauline (Wazbinski) Satkowiak on January 26, 1923 in Kawkawlin and resided in Bay City since 1947.  Leo was a veteran of WWII, honorably serving our country in the U.S. Army.  Before his retirement, he spent 35 years truck driving with various companies and retired from Short Freight Lines in 1979.  Leo was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and its Senior Citizens Club, League of Catholic Women and Men, and Teamsters Union Local #486.

OnOctober 4, 1947, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline “Maxine” Ciesielski and they shared their lives together for over 64 years.  Maxine survives him, along with their five children:  Patti (Dave) Lewandowski of Canton, MI, Pam (Bill) Wiescinski of Portage, MI, Jim Satkowiak of Bay City, Jon (Christine) Satkowiak of Murphys, CA, and Joe (Mary Ann) Satkowiak of Livonia, MI; nine grandchildren:  David, Matthew, and Evan Lewandowski, Jonathan and Kristen Wiescinski, Lindsey (Russell) Richards and Garrett Satkowiak, Travis and Tyler Satkowiak; two great grandchildren:  Jocelyn Satkowiak and Logan Richards; five siblings:  Sister Thomasine, Pauline (Chet) Latocki, Louis (Barbara) Satkowiak, Helen Murawski, and Robert (Luanne) Satkowiak; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Satkowiak.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four siblings:  Matthew (Sophie) Satkowiak, Albina Satkowiak, Frank (Alice) Satkowiak, and Raymond Satkowiak; as well as a brother-in-law, Gerald Murawski.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday afternoon, February 6, 2012at 1:00 PMin St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Kosciuszko and Grant Streets, Bay City.  Leo will lie in state in church Monday after 12:00Noon.  Rev. Richard M. Filary will preside and Rite of Committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Mausoleum, with Military Rites by the Bay County Veterans Council.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimers Association.  Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, with St. Stan’s Senior Citizens Club rosary at 2:30 PMand the Vigil Service at 4:30 PMin the W.A.TrahanFuneralChapel & PrearrangementCenter.    For online condolences:  www.trahanfc.com
