Fran Baur, age 71, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper in Saginaw, following a brief illness.  Fran was born December 5, 1940 in Caro, the daughter of the late Howard & Ellene (Hicky) Foster. She graduated from Fairgrove High School with the class of 1959.  Fran farmed in her younger years, and would later work for the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility after many years of caring for her family as a homemaker. She was a member of the Caro Assembly of God Church and enjoyed bowling, cooking, gardening and especially loved caring for her plants, dogs, cats and birds. 

Fran is survived by one son and his wife, Linal & Melissa Baur of Fairgrove; four grandchildren, Christina and her fiancé, Steve Turner, Jeffrey, Justin and Corey Baur; one great-grandson, Michael Turner; one sister, Audrey Foster of Caro; one brother and his wife, John & Joann Foster of Caro; three nieces; and her beloved cat, Kiki. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Caro Assembly of God Church with Rev. David D. Dietzel officiating.  Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove.  The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Baur Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Linal Baur, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.  The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.  Friends may share memories, thoughts and prayers online at www.RansfordCollon.com.
