Survived By: Jamie is survived by his wife, Gretchen and son, Jay; step-children: Emily (James) Colon and Charles (Anne) Gibson; and five grandchildren: Alexandria, Andrew, Joseph and Ethan Gibson and Ella Colon.
Affiliations: He was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church, and spent his entire career in sales after graduating from Western Michigan University. He was passionate about spending time outdoors, and enjoyed downhill skiing, tennis, cycling, kayaking and hiking. Jamie was a fierce competitor, both in sports and in life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved watching trains. Jamie will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him.

FERGUSON, James “Jamie” Buchanan of Saginaw Township, MI passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 4, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 64 years old. Jamie was born on January 16, 1948 in Saginaw to the late John and Helen (Buchanan) Ferguson. He was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church, and spent his entire career in sales after graduating from Western Michigan University.  He was passionate about spending time outdoors, and enjoyed downhill skiing, tennis, cycling, kayaking and hiking.  Jamie was a fierce competitor, both in sports and in life.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and loved watching trains.  Jamie will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him. 

Jamie is survived by his wife, Gretchen and son, Jay; step-children: Emily (James) Colon and Charles (Anne) Gibson; and five grandchildren: Alexandria, Andrew, Joseph and Ethan Gibson and Ella Colon.

A memorial service honoring Jamie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the First Congregational Church, 403 S. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw; Dr. Todd Farley and Dr. Charles Guerreno will officiate. Friends will be received at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Visitation with the family will take place at First Congregational on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to support the research of the Les Turner ALS Foundation, 5550 W.
