Peters, Alvid B.

West Branch, Michigan (formerly of Saginaw)

            Passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at The Brook in West Branch, age 93 years.

            Alvid was born in Detroit, Michigan November 26, 1918.  He married Dorothea Feavyear April 18, 1941.  She predeceased him May 27, 1980.  Alvid served in the United States Navy during World War II. He lived at Long Lake for many years and loved spending time outdoors.  Alvid was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Hale, MI.  He retired from Draper Chevrolet in 1977.

            Alvid is survived by two children, Alvid (Karen) Peters, Jr. and Brenda; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son, Scott Peters in 1996.

            A committal service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Military services will be under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 439. The family would like to extend their love to Al’s “family” at The Brook for the loving care they showed to Alvid during his time there.   Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Hospice of Helping Hands.
