Geraldine Maude Schmidt, 82, of Lewiston, passed away on December 7, 2009 at her residence.  She was born on December 11, 1926 to John and Mamie (Shorkey) Wagner in Bay City, MI.  She married James Schmidt in 1960 in Bay City, MI.  Geraldine was an avid dear hunter.  She enjoyed casino trips, card games, and going to garage sales.  She liked to take nature walks and sit by the bon fire.  She loved to spend time with her children and her grandchildren.  She enjoyed life and having a good time.Geraldine is survived by her husband, James F. of Lewiston, formerly of Essexville;  sons, Greg (Charlene) Schmidt of Pinconning, MI, and Marc Schmidt of Essexville, MI;  daughters, Lynn (Rick) Pullen and Kim Schmidt, both of Bay City, MI;  12 grandchildren;  13 great grandchildren;  brothers, Clarence (Jenny) Wagner of Lewiston, MI, and Nelson (Virginia) Wagner of Bay City, MI;  numerous nieces and nephews;  special friends, Nancy and Dr Louis Berta of Bay City, MI; and her dog, Maggie.  She was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Katie Schmidt;  Marc’s special friend, Susan Rys; and sisters, Beatrice Thomas, Elenore Volders, and Bernice Williams. As were the family wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service for Mrs Schmidt on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at  Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home in Bay City, MI.  Visitation hours will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place after the services at St Patrick’s Cemetery.    Lewiston arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home.
