Volz, Kenneth W. Flushing, MI Passed away on Sunday morning, January 10, 2010 at the Covenant Cooper Medical Center. Age 81 years. He was born on March 31, 1928 in Montrose Township, the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (French) Volz. Ken married Emogene Holzhausen on September 10, 1960 in Easton, she survives him. Ken served his country during the Korean War and was a member and past commander of the New Lothrop VFW. He served on the state VFW honor guard. Ken retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant 1 and was also a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and league bowling. He had formerly served as treasurer of the Brent Creek Methodist Church. Surviving besides his wife, Emogene are 2 sons and 1 daughter, Kevin Volz of Rudyard; Kendrick (Tammy) Volz of Flushing; Karagene (Kurt) Petroskey of Suttons Bay; 6 grandchildren, Andrew, Caleigh, Cassidy, Matthew, Donald and Ethan. 2 brothers and 1 sister, Wayne Volz of South Branch, Karen (Russ) Wilhelm of Flint and Norman (Sheila) Volz of Flushing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Whelpley-Martin Funeral home, New Lothrop. Rev. David Maltzan will officiate.
