She attended grade school at the Moored Pioneer Schoolhouse (the current Highland Township Hall) and in 1933 graduated from Flint Northern High School. Mrs. Dalton was a devoted member of the Democratic Party, and was actively involved in the election process for many years. For 25 years she was a 4H leader, instructing young ladies in the art of sewing, and was the director of the Moored Pioneer #1 School Board until 1964. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining guests at her farm, gardening, pets, painting woodcrafts and canning produce.
