Catherine L. "Kitty" Shann of Tawas (Alabaster Twp.) died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at her home, age 70. She was born February 14, 1939 in Cass City, the daughter of Lawrence and Madeline (Hebert) Ball. Kitty was a beautician in Tawas for many years, owning Kitty’s Bowteek in East Tawas and retiring in 1994. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Surviving are 2 sons Dennis Pfeiffer of Flint and Mark Pfeiffer of Whittemore, 1 daughter Louise Gross and her fiancée Michael J. Steele of Turtle Lake Wisconsin, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Melinda Pfeiffer of Whittemore, a brother Lawrence F. (Joanne) Ball of Alpena and a brother-in-law Larry Butler of National City. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Shann on August 21, 2005, by her daughter Elizabeth MacDonald-Foster in 2007, her grandson Mark John Pfeiffer in 2004, her son-in-law Warren Gross in 2007 and by her sister Rosemary Butler in 2006. The funeral mass will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas with Fr. Lawrence Boks officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery, Grant Twp. Friends may call at the Buresh & Kobs Funeral Home in Tawas Thursday from 2-8 PM and at the church on Friday after 10-AM. The Rosary will be prayed on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
