Verna M. Smith of Tustin passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 82.
She was born December 2, 1929, in Dighton to Charles Leon and Jessie B. (Baker) Snowden. Verna married John William Smith on November 4, 1950 in Dighton. Verna worked at AC Delco Spark Plugs in Flint. She also owned and taught ceramics out of her shop in Flint. Verna also worked at several restaurants, and was a Baker University graduate. She had a love for oil painting, ceramics and family. She will be deeply missed.
Verna is survived by her husband, John William Smith; daughter, Rhonda Lee (Lewis) McLure; sons, Duane Smith and Darrel J. (Brandy) Smith and her two grandsons, John and Steven Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home in Marion on Monday, November 19, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Jonathon Christwood of the Marion Seventh Day Adventist Church and Leonard Ketzen. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family.
