Joseph D. Protasiewicz

Mr. Protasiewicz 56 passed away suddenly Sunday November 18, 2012 at McLaren- Bay Region following complications from heart surgery. He was born in Detroit on July 18, 1956 to the late Joseph M. & Alyce (Strawn) Protasiewicz.  He was a graduate of Pinconning Area High School Class of 1974. He married the former Jenny A Kusmierz in Standish on August 29, 1997. She survives him. He was member of the IBEW Local 692 of Bay City, employee of Bock Electric Co. and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, and was a devoted U of M fan.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons Justin & Jake Protasiewicz; brothers and sisters Linda & Mark Simonson, Mike & Jennifer Protasiewicz, Donna & Dennis Steinbaur, Don & Sherry Protasiewicz, Karrie Lupo, Jerry & Sue Protasiewicz, Ken & Toni Protasiewicz, and Alyson Protasiewicz; his beloved dog Jackson; his brother & sister in laws Kerry & JoAnn Kusmierz, Jeffrey & Sue Kusmierz, Karen & Mark Kessler and Connie Billingsley & fiancé Dave Brockett. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Alyce Protasiewicz, a sister Joann Bryce, father in law Robert Kusmierz and a mother in law Carol Kusmierz.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday November 21, 2012 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Miller presiding with burial in St. Michaels Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. On Wednesday Joe will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family’s wishes.
