Passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Clare at the age of 72.

Paul was born April 27, 1940, in Saginaw to the late Paul and Erma (Sary) Owen. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Dyess from 1959 to 1961. Paul worked for General Motors for 32 years and belonged to UAW Local 699. He married Janet Nurminger on April 6, 1996, she survives him. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Sportsman Club in Harrison. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his dog Cookie. He loved animals and they had a mutual affection for him.

   Besides his loving wife of 16 years he will be missed by his step-children, Eric (Jolene) Garza, Juanita Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, and Wayne Lumsden; 8 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat Lyons and Jim (Sandy) Owen; and cherished friends, Doug and Verna Phannes and Tim and Connie Sauvy. He was predeceased by a step-great-granddaughter, Nevaeh and brother-in-law, Bob Lyons. The family would like to thank the staff at Tendercare in Clare (Country Lane) and the nurses on all shifts on the 2nd and 3rd floors at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Clare, for the exceptional care they provided to Paul.

Funeral services will take place at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. William B. Howard will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the Humane Society.
