Allen Richard Waibel, 72, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his home with his family at his side.  Allen was born October 24, 1940 in Pinconning to Joseph and Elizabeth (Baker) Waibel.  He was the ninth child of sixteen born to Joseph and Elizabeth.  Thirteen survived to adulthood.  Allen served in the United States Army as a Military Police and later worked at Buick Motor Division and transferred to Saginaw Steering Gear where he worked for over thirty years.  He retired and pursued his passions for hunting, fishing and golf.  In November 25, 1967 he married Mary Ann Coggins at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pinconning.  To this union four sons were born: Brian, Todd, David and Andrew.  Allen in survived by his wife Mary Ann, their sons Brian, Todd, David and Andrew (Aleksandra), five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Black, Johanna Knochel, Helen Waibel, Donna (Wallace) Gerst, Sharon Schlatter, six brothers, Joseph (Jane) William (Carole), James, John (Yvonne), Benjamin (Eloise) and Robert (Kathleen).  He is preceded by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth, four sisters, unnamed sister, Emma, Alice and Lois and three brothers in law, Forrest Black, Herbert Knochel, Sr. and Ronald Schlatter. 

 

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11 am from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home with his nephew John Jackson presiding with burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Monday December 3, 2012 from 2 to 8 pm.   Those wishing to express their sympathies are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan or the family wishes.
