Birchmeier, Douglas Walter

New Lothrop, Michigan

Passed away on Thursday evening, November 29, 2012 at St Mary’s of Michigan Hospital, Saginaw. Age 41 years. He was born on December 29, 1970 in Saginaw to  David and Willo (Cline) Birchmeier. He married Beverly Michael Robinette on November 10, 2007, she survives him.  Doug worked in the family business, Birchmeier Brothers  Farms and R & D Septic Service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Maple Grove Township Fire Department , Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association and the Saginaw Farm Bureau. He was an avid bowler and blooper ball coach.  Doug was always very concerned about taking care of his family, friends and his community, he also served on the Maple Grove Township Board of Trustees.

Surviving is his wife, Beverly, 2 children; Danielle Michael Birchmeier and David Walter Birchmeier, his mother, Willo Birchmeier of New Lothrop, brothers and sisters; Brenda Birchmeier, Raymon  (Heidi) Birchmeier, Ed “Scrub” Birchmeier, Nancy Birchmeier , all of New Lothrop, also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, David Birchmeier and his grandparents.

Funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at the St Michael Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Fr. T.J. Fleming will officiate with burial in St Michael Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and Monday from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm. then at church on Tuesday after 10:00 am.  Fireman’s  Memorial Service  will be 6:30 pm Monday with the Scripture service at 7:00 pm and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8:00 pm.  Memorials are suggested to Maple Grove Township Fire Department or Knights of Columbus # 2943. www.wmartinifuneralhome.com
