Donald "Don" G. Huebner

Donald “Don” G. Huebner, 72, of Bay City, and former Midland resident, died Wednesday evening, November 28, 2012, at McLaren Bay Region, after a brief illness.  Don was born December 14, 1939, in Midland, the son of Delbert and Nora (Smith) Huebner. 


Don graduated from Midland High School.  Don worked as general manager of 4-D Builders Supply for the majority of his career, but also worked at Edgar Boettcher Mason Contractor, Inc. and Van Poppelen Brothers Inc..  In his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing and fishing trips to Canada.  Don was a member of the Midland Moose Lodge, often spent time at Black Lake, and was an avid Tigers, Lions, and Spartans fan. 


He is survived by his children, Douglas Huebner of Midland, Kelly (Rick) Robinson of Sanford, and Lisa (John) Gall, Leslie (Paul) Walker, Tracy Wissel, all of Midland; six grandchildren, Donald Scott Burns, Kyle (Ashley) Engle, Sarah Walker, Stephen Walker, Makiah Huebner, Madelyn Wissel; great granddaughter Ayla Engle; stepson Matt (Crystal) Evans of Bear Lake; and his former wife, and mother of his five children, Carol (Thomas) Huebner of Midland.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandi (Evans), and his sister Karyl Loose. 


Funeral services will take place at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 3, 2012, at Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Street, Pastor Don Duford officiating.  Don’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 pm until time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the ALS Association.
