French, Mrs. Phyllis L.,
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare Cooper following a brief illness. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late Stanley and Jean (Kramp) Darling, Phyllis was born March 24, 1931 in Applegate, Michigan. She married Stanley French, her loving husband of 60 years, on March 1, 1952. He survives her. Phyllis enjoyed making photo books and loved being with family and friends. She was a special lady who made friends with everyone she met. Her loving and radiant personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving besides her husband Stanley are two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Randy and Nancy French, St. Charles; Rick and Desiree French, Howell; Lorie and Russell Beck, Freeland; eight grandchildren, Josh and Trisha Webb, Nick and Dawn French, Tito and Charlotte Valentine, Charlie French, Jonathan and Austin Beck, Dillon and Kip French; three great-grandchildren, Garrett Webb, Aurora Valentine and Lucas French; one sister, Lucille and Raymond Miller, Lexington, Michigan; Phyllis’ sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Hall, Bob French and Betty Lou Klotz, several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by a sister, Ione Darling, and by two brothers-in-law, Vernon and Kenneth French.
Phyllis’ family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Louis Byrne and his staff and to Covenant Healthcare for the loving care they provided.
Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Freeland, Michigan. Rev. Rob Schmidt will officiate. Honoring Mrs. French’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), in Saginaw, where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
