Survived By: Barbara is survived by three children; Michelle Neveau of Essexville, Jack Neveau of Freeland and Michael Neveau; as well as two grandchildren. Also surviving are two half brothers; Floyd Shetler and Raymond Engel and a half sister, Sharon Grew.
Affiliations: Barbara was baptized on January 16, 1957 by Pastor Sanders and confirmed on January 10, 1966 by Pastor Struck at Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She was a current member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Essexville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed books of all kinds. Barbara returned to school for her diploma after becoming a widow and graduated with honors. She then began writing books and short stories; she published five books. Barbara loved the library and spent as a much time there as she could, looking for interesting books and doing research on both sides of her family's genealogy. She also worked doing upholstery and sewing throughout most of her life.

Barbara Ann Neveau, age 80 years, was called home to be with the Lord Jesus on December 10, 2012.  She was born on April 25, 1932 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Floyd and Helen (Russell) Shetler.  On April 1, 1950 Barbara married Jack Neveau and they were married 47 years before his passing in 1997.  Barbara was baptized on January 16, 1957 by Pastor Sanders and confirmed on January 10, 1966 by Pastor Struck at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.  She was a current member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Essexville.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed books of all kinds.  Barbara returned to school for her diploma after becoming a widow and graduated with honors.  She then began writing books and short stories; she published five books.  Barbara loved the library and spent as a much time there as she could, looking for interesting books and doing research on both sides of her family’s genealogy.  She also worked doing upholstery and sewing throughout most of her life.

 

Barbara is survived by three children; Michelle Neveau of Essexville, Jack Neveau of Freeland and Michael Neveau; as well as two grandchildren.  Also surviving are two half brothers; Floyd Shetler and Raymond Engel and a half sister, Sharon Grew.  Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her sister, Lila York; 16 brothers & sisters-in-law; Art & Toots Schuchardt, Charles (Chuck) & Midge Gillisse, Willard (Bill) & Marie Neveau, Iva & Harold Roth, Marcella & Cliff McPherson, Ruth Roth, Paul Gendron, Tom Neveau, Lynn Neveau, Frank Neveau and Alwich (Bud) Neveau.

 

Barbara’s wishes were for her earthly body to be cremated.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church.  Rev. Mark Luetzow officiating.  The family will greet friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
