Weiss, Ben Otto
Ben Weiss, age 89, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012. He was born on February 2, 1923 to the late Otto and Elizabeth Weiss in Bridgeport, MI. He married the former Dorothy Hare and she preceded him in death. In 2002 he married the former Edna Frackowiak and she survives him. Ben was a life member or the VFW and Wolverine Sportsman Club. Ben enjoyed bingo and spending time with his family.
Along with his wife Edna, Ben is survived by 2 children, Larry and Leonard; 15 step-children; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brother-in-laws; 2 sister-in-laws and a daughter-in-law. Along with his parents and first wife, Ben was preceded in death by a son, Ben Weiss Jr.; a daughter, Darlene Near; a step daughter Kathy Fowler and 2 sisters, Beatrice and Betty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Pastor Jason Baldwin will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will take place Thursday, December 20 from 1 to 8 p.m. at CM Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles and on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the family’s wishes.
