Survived By: Moose is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kammerer of Caro; one son and his wife, Dennis & Roxanne of Caro; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasmine & Zachary, all of Caro; three godchildren, Christina, Crystal and Gary Edward Mitchell; one brother and his wife, Rick & Norma Kammerer of Houghton Lake; one sister, Sue Athens of Oklahoma; uncles, Jim Hoover and Jack Dorsey, both of Lapeer; brothers-in-law, Randy LaPratt of Florida, Bob & Sally LaPratt of Caro; sister-in-law, Susan LaPratt of Bay City; best friends, Gary & Carol Ann Mitchell, Angel & Deb Padro, Craig & Dee Zajac; and many nieces and nephews.

Dennis Lane Kammerer, age 58, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, December 17, 2012 following a brief illness. Dennis was born August 28, 1954 in Pontiac, the son of the late William & Peggy (Hoover) Kammerer. He was united in marriage with the former Sandra LaPratt on June 23, 1978 in Caro, and the couple has cherished their thirty-four years together. Moose worked as a farmer in Pigeon for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing computer games. In his younger years, Dennis was known internationally as “Golden Eagle” to anyone with a CB radio.

Moose is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Kammerer of Caro; one son and his wife, Dennis & Roxanne of Caro; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasmine & Zachary, all of Caro; three godchildren, Christina, Crystal and Gary Edward Mitchell; one brother and his wife, Rick & Norma Kammerer of Houghton Lake; one sister, Sue Athens of Oklahoma; uncles, Jim Hoover and Jack Dorsey, both of Lapeer; brothers-in-law, Randy LaPratt of Florida, Bob & Sally LaPratt of Caro; sister-in-law, Susan LaPratt of Bay City; best friends, Gary & Carol Ann Mitchell, Angel & Deb Padro, Craig & Dee Zajac; and many nieces and nephews. Moose was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael in 1978; one brother, Larry Kammerer in 1999; his father- and mother-in-law, Leonard & Kaye LaPratt; and his faithful companions, dogs Rusty, Starr and Zola.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Bill Hendricks officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Kammerer Family Discretionary Fund.
