Evelyn I. Bell

Evelyn Irene Bell, 92 of Midland, passed away Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2012 at her residence. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by family and friends. She was born Nov. 23, 1920 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Claude and Sarah (Bailey) McCarty. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard O. Bell in 1989, her parents, two sisters, Blanche (Carl) Olson, Viola (Joseph) Ventengle, and a brother Alba McCarty.

She graduated from Arthur Hill High She married her high school sweetheart, Richard O. Bell on Jan. 13, 1940. She was employed by Dow Corning for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Midland Free Methodist Church since 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Gibson; son, Richard (Mary) Bell and five grandchildren, Bryan Bell, Kevin (Shiela) Bell, Keith Bell, John Willsie, Mike (Angela) Willsie and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 from the Midland Free Methodist Church. Pastor David Kessler will officiate with burial in the Midland City Cemetery. Evelyn’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler Street, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and at the church on Saturday, 10 a.m. until time of service.
