KELLY, Francis – Of Flint, age 74, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at his residence, surrounded by his wife and family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church G-5199 Richfield Road, Flint.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family so they can donate to Cystic Fibrosis or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 1-8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A memorial Service will be conducted by the K of C Council at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelly will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Francis was born in Flint, Michigan on September 19, 1938, the son of Lloyd and Rose (Dubie) Kelly.
Francis graduated from Sacred Heart School in 1956; then married Myrna (Greenway) Kelly on May 25, 1957 at Sacred Heart Church in Flint.
Francis retired from General Motors after 51 years of service as a Skilled Tradesman Machine Repairman. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and camping trips; Red Wings Hockey, polka music and running with his dog.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Knights of Columbus, Davison.
Surviving are wife of 55 years, Myrna;
five children, Mike (Tammy) Kelly,
Karen (Mark) Perrault,
Patrick (Julie) Kelly,
Julie (Mike) Throop and
brother, Robert and wife Jeanine Kelly of Cheboygan, MI;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Matthew Kelly, in 1994; two infant daughters, Kathy and Melissa Kelly; parents, Lloyd and Rose (Dubie) Kelly; great-aunt and uncle, Effie and Ray Phelps; father and mother-in-law, Russell and Thelma Greenway.
