Mrs. Drzewicki age 87 died peacefully Thursday December 27, 2012 at her home. Daughter of the late John & Mildred (Denis) Countegan, she was born February 9, 1925 in Bay City. She married Bernard “Ben” Drzewicki April 29, 1950 in St. Boniface Church. He predeceased her May 27, 2007. Shirley was a lifelong member of The Church of St. Boniface. She also belong to the K of C Ladies Auxiliary #4102, monthly card club, , Tuesday afternoon lunch bunch, McLaren Cardiac Rehab where she attended since 2001.
Surviving are five children: Denis (Tammy) Drzewicki, John (Sally) Drzewicki, Susan (Galen) Kaliszewski, Carol (Dr. Steve) Hickner, Amy (James) Jones, thirteen grandchildren; Scott (Kelly) Drzewicki, Jeff (Rachael) Drzewicki, Andy (Tressa) Sosnowski, Bonnie (Matt) Theisen, Angela Drzewicki, John Drzewicki & his fiance’ Peggy Weiler, Leah Kaliszewski & Albert, Corey (Derek) Johnson, Steve, Mary & Daniel Hickner, Jacqueline & Ian Jones and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers in-law and a sister in-law: James (Celina) Drzewicki, Mike (Jan) Drzewicki, Dolores (Ron) Trombley and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson; Evan Kaliszewski, one brother; John Countegan and a sister; Yvonne Canfield.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday January 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Church of St. Boniface. Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 5 & 6 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. There will be a parish vigil service for Shirley at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider, Church of St. Boniface, St. Vincent DePaul Society of Bay City or Donor’s Favorite Charity.
My Children have made my life most meaningful and made me feel very alive and necessary. Be there for one another to grieve and to love. Don’t worry about anything, pray about everything and be thankful. Most of us believe we are given life for a purpose- you my children are my purpose.
