Van Driessche, Harold A.
Bay City, Michigan
Age 82 years, died February 7, 2010 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. He was born in Saginaw on December 25, 1927 to the late Henry and Louise (Fischer) Van Driessche.
Harold retired from Dow Chemical Co. in Midland after 33 years as special project engineer. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Harold is survived by his wife, the former Mary Swartz, whom he married August 14, 1948. He also leaves 3 children: Gail (Jack) Luke, Henry (Lou Ann) Van Driessche and Brian (Kimberly) Van Driessche, a son-in-law Daniel Hauch, 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia K. Hauch on April 22, 2008, a brother George Van Driessche and a sister Doris LaPrairie.
Funeral service will be Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark M. Schulz will officiate. Burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service.
