Survived By: Shirley is survived by her sons: Randy L. (Debra) Billsby of Midland, Rick L. (Darla) Billsby of Charlotte NC, Michael Billsby and his special friend Marlene of Bradenton, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren: Chad (Rebecca) Billsby, Casey Billsby, Marcus Billsby, Kaden Letson, Sean Jones, Cody Barrett, Alyssa Barrett; five great grandchildren; a brother Douglass Hoag of San Diego CA, and sister Sharon (Donald) Woodard of Durham NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Mark Billsby and her grandson Jonathan Rickabaugh.

Shirley A. Billsby, 74 of Bradenton FL, formerly of Midland, died Sunday afternoon at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton. She was born July 12, 1938 in Midland the daughter of the late Ralph and Doris (Brokaw) Hoag.

On April 26, 1957 she married Glen L. Billsby in Midland. Shirley had been a teacher’s aide at Calvary Baptist Academy and had worked as a nurse’s aide at King’s Daughters Home for many years. She enjoyed camping, shopping, picnics on the beach and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by her sons: Randy L. (Debra) Billsby of Midland, Rick L. (Darla) Billsby of Charlotte NC, Michael Billsby and his special friend Marlene of Bradenton, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren: Chad (Rebecca) Billsby, Casey Billsby, Marcus Billsby, Kaden Letson, Sean Jones, Cody Barrett, Alyssa Barrett; five great grandchildren; a brother Douglass Hoag of San Diego CA, and sister Sharon (Donald) Woodard of Durham NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Mark Billsby and her grandson Jonathan Rickabaugh.

Funeral services for Shirley will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 from the Open Door Baptist Church with Pastor Jody Ellis officiating. Interment will take place in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Shirley’s family will receive friends at the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home 1200 West Wheeler Street on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
