Beloved mother, grandmother went to her heavenly home Thursday, January 10, 2013. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Andrew and Cecilia (Stoeckle) Loeffler, Carlene was born July 31, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Anthony A. Cieszlak on May 30, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church in Saginaw. He predeceased her November 9, 1998. Carlene was a past member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a current member of St. Helen Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister to hospitals, nursing homes and the homebound and served on funeral luncheons. Carlene was also a member of the Secular Franciscans and did mission work in the Appalachian Mountains for Glenmary Home Missioners. She called Bingo at Community Village. Carlene also served as an officer in Church Women United. She was an active member of the Starcraft Camper Club.
Surviving are her children, John (Eileen) Cieszlak, Saginaw; Frank (Patricia) Cieszlak, Bay City; Timothy Cieszlak, Onaway; Marianne (Philip) Fehrman, Saginaw; Martin (Lucia) Cieszlak, Fort Worth, Texas; Kevin (Maureen) Cieszlak, Saginaw; Susan (Maynard) Lockwood, Saginaw; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Carlene was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Andrew Loeffler and a sister, Margaret Lorenz.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to7:00 p.m. and at St. Helen Catholic Church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of Mass. The Third Order of St. Francis will pray the Rosary 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
