Mr. Byrne age 90 passed away peacefully Sunday February 7, 2010.  Joe was born on January 19, 1920 in Pinconning, Michigan to the late Richard & Lucy (Naumes) Byrne.  Joe married the former Eleanor (Proulx) on October 14, 1944 at St. Michael’s Church she survives him.  He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the usher club, a former K of C member and served on the Pinconning City Council for 18 years and as Mayor Pro-Tem.  Joe retired from GM Powertrain after 32 years of service.  Surviving besides his wife of 65 years are his children Nora (James) Walworth, Joseph (Terri) Byrne, Randall (Patricia) Byrne, and Jacquelyn (Pierre) Brazeau, grandchildren Mark (Julie) Walworth, David Walworth, Bill (Wendi) Walworth, Patrick (Dr. Jessica) Byrne, Matthew (Brooke) Byrne, Philip, Kevin, and Christopher Byrne, Dominique Brazeau & fiancé Roberto Ambriz and Jordan Brazeau, great grandchildren Alisha and Mark Walworth, Bailey, Tyler, Karlee, Linsee and Chase Walworth, Catherine and Victoria Byrne, a sister Mary Smith and brother and sister-in-laws Jack & Lois Berthiaume, Isabel Byrne and Barbra Proulx.  Joe was predeceased by his brothers Eugene, Virgil, Woodroe, and Edwin Byrne, sister in law Zeta Byrne, nephew Virgil Byrne, niece Diane Smith, two brother-in-laws Joseph Proulx and Max Smith.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday February 10, 2010 at 11 am from St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas Kowalczyk and Deacon Ralph Brisson presiding with burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 8 pm.  On Tuesday a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m.  On Wednesday Joseph will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of service.
