Survived By: her children and their spouses, Terry and Karen Miller of Reese, Ann and Matthew MaMoody of Oakland, CA., David Miller of Reese, Paul and Elsa Miller of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Aaron (Ana) Miller, Peter Miller, Rachel (Kevin) Peroni, Tasha MaMoody, James MaMoody, Jonathan Miller, Kayla Miller, Paul Miller and John Miller, one brother, Ralph (JoJane) Kern of Franklinton, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews.

Leona Marie Miller, 86, of Reese, died Thursday evening, January 10, 2013 at Meadow View Manor.  She was born on September 8, 1926 in Reese, daughter of the late Bernhardt and Christiana (Bauer) Kern.  Leona married Ruben J. Miller on September 8, 1946 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville.  He preceded her on March 4, 2009.  She had been employed with Zehnder’sof Frankenmuth as a waitress for many years before she retired.  Leona was an avid gardener, loved to do canning of all kinds and was the legendary bread maker in her family.  Her Christian Faith was strong and she instilled that strong faith into her family.  Surviving are her children and their spouses, Terry and Karen Miller of Reese, Ann and Matthew MaMoody of Oakland, CA., David Miller of Reese, Paul and Elsa Miller of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Aaron (Ana) Miller, Peter Miller, Rachel (Kevin) Peroni, Tasha MaMoody, James MaMoody, Jonathan Miller, Kayla Miller, Paul Bryan Miller and John Miller, one brother, Ralph (JoJane) Kern of Franklinton, Louisiana and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, three brothers, Clarence, Elmer “Tony” and Peter Kern and two sisters, Elsie Daenzer and Luella Hill all preceded her in death.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013 from St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Pastor Rob Gadeken and Pastor Wes Gillaspie will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.  Leona’s family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home 9940 Saginaw Street, Reese on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Michael’s Lutheran Church or Meadow View Manor managed care facility in Saginaw.
