Klosowski, Rufus, J., Sr.

Age 95 years, died Monday, February 8, 2010 in Bay Regional Medical Center.  He was born to the late John and Magdalene (Franckowiak) on September 17, 1914 in Bay City.  Rufus was employed with Farmer Peet for 32 years and later with Peoples National Bank for 10 years.  He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church and the Knight of Columbus Council #414.  On July 25, 1936 he married the former Theola E. Groulx and she preceded him in death on December 21, 1998.

     Survivors include his three sons: Rufus (Mary Ann) Klosowski, Jr. of Alger, Jerome (Ruth Ann) Klosowski and Dennis (Cheryl Ann) Klosowski all of Bay City; eight grandchildren: Karen (Alan Erskine) Klosowski, Robert (Nadine) Klosowski, Pamela (Mike) Revard, Patricia (Ed) Reaume, Matt (Linda) Klosowski, Dennis (Tina) Klosowski, Linnette (Ed) Fish and Amanda (Joe Richards) Klosowski; 20 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews, especially his niece, Evelyn.

     In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death twin sons, his daughter, one great-granddaughter, one great-grandson, four brothers and four sisters.

     The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. Maria Goretti Church.  Rufus will lie in state in church Thursday after 9:00 AM.  Rev. George Serour and Sr. Virginia Scally, SNDdeN will preside over the funeral rites and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum.  Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Maria Goretti Church.  Visiting hours are Wednesday 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, at the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel.
