Survived By: She will be missed by her husband, Loren; children, Janet Haluska of Rochester Hills, and Bruce (Pat) Haluska of Houston, Texas; sister, Joan Johnson of Virginia, grandchildren, Charles and Tiffany; and daughter-in-law, Claudia Haluska of Wixom. She was preceded in death by her son, David Haluska in 2012.

Diana Haluska, 85 of Midland died Wednesday Afternoon, January 16, 2013 at the Cartwright Center.

 

She was born August 24, 1927 in Redfield, Iowa, daughter of the late Dale and Blanche (Sloan) Chance.  She grew up in Redfield and graduated valedictorian from Redfield high school.  She received her BS degree in business from the University of Iowa, and was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.  On February 5, 1948 she married Loren Haluska in Iowa City, and they moved to Midland in 1951.  Diana was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  She belonged to several bridge clubs, and was an excellent cook. 

 

She will be missed by her husband, Loren; children, Janet Haluska of Rochester Hills, and Bruce (Pat) Haluska of Houston, Texas; sister, Joan Johnson of Virginia, grandchildren, Charles and Tiffany; and daughter-in-law, Claudia Haluska of Wixom.  She was preceded in death by her son, David Haluska in 2012.

 

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 315 Larkin Street in Midland.  Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth will officiate, with burial in Midland Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street in Midland, on Tuesday from 4-7 pm, and at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the First United Methodist church or a charity of their choice.
