Joyce L. DeVan-Witte

Mrs. DeVan, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013.  Joyce was born in Rhodes, Mich., on July 30, 1946, to the late William and Sarah (Bechtel) Witte. She lived for many years in Omaha, Neb., before moving to Joplin. She loved family, crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Louis; children, Sarah Jo and Matt Radcliffe, of Joplin, Michael and Katie DeVan, of Springfield, Va., and David and Michelle DeVan, of Omaha; grandchildren, Hailey, Rachel and Nicholas; one brother, Ronald Witte, and wife, Geri, of Pinconning, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Nita, Mable, Sigrid, Kay and Shirley; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Carl, George, Richard, Stewart and Walter Witte; sisters Lorraine Preger/Doolittle, Wilma Ostrander and Norma Sue Coates.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1 pm from Hope Lutheran Church in Rhodes with pastor Reed Schroer presiding.  Family will greet guests from 12 noon until time of service.
